Andrew Williams, NZ First candidate for North Shore
The National Government's decision to seize control of the Auckland waterfront from the Auckland Council following the chaos of last weekend is a total overreaction says New Zealand First candidate for North Shore and former Mayor Andrew Williams.

The GetAcross plan for a cycle and walk pathway across the Auckland Harbour Bridge has a lot of merit, and appears very achievable. It would be slung under the bridge's eastern southbound clip-on. The $35 million plan is a PPP project to be completed by April 2013 if approvals are given by NZTA and other authorities. It incorporates observation decks and stunning night lighting.
